On behalf of the Executive Council, the Board of Directors and all the distinguished members of this great association, I welcome you all to our platform and space.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the 6th president of this formidable Association which has existed for over three decades and still growing and waxing very strong.
OANA stands as a beacon of light and unity for all indigenous people of Okwelle both in the diaspora and our hometown in Imo state. OANA has a rich history of fostering connections, influencing quality changes and deepening relationships amongst members and communities in Okwelle.
This association started many years ago with a vision conceived by few well-meaning people of Okwelle in America with the purpose of promoting our culture and values in the diaspora.
I greatly appreciate their love, dedication and commitment to this great association, making them our strongest pillars.
Our association was inaugurated in White Plains New York, in 1994 in the basement of one of our own, High Chief Luke and Chief Mrs. Harriet Ashamole’s residence.
Since the inauguration of Okwelle Association In North America, we have recorded significant growth over the years and are creating opportunities for our future generations in connecting with their roots to preserve our culture and heritage.

I invite you to join us on our journey by attending one of our conventions, sharing your quality ideas or just spreading good words about our association.
Together we can ensure that Okwelle Association In North America stays very strong and resilient.
OANA is a 501(c)3 association, your donations are tax deductible under the Internal Revenue Service code. We solicits for your donations to keep hope alive for the less privileged in our communities.
Long Live Okwelle! Long Live OANA!
President, OANA
